Item Price Drops
Stonghold Ball Goal Circle is a reward for completing the Stronghold Assault achievement, defeat all level 60 Empyreal stronghold bosses.
This week also saw the first drop in prices for a selected number of the patch 2.3 dimension items. Items like the elegantly styled vase, human skull, green grass and puffball mushrooms have had drops in currency and credit prices. This adjustment to prices is likely to continue as the initial rush of purchases slows down and Trion determine a sustainable price point for dimension items. For those who had already purchased these items at the higher prices, my condolences.
This is a very welcome change. Along with a substantial price reduction for the more expensive pre-patch 2.3 items, these changes will help stretch our platinum and credit supplies for the more expensive items. Lets hope we see a few more reductions in price. Continue Reading
New goodies on the Nug quartermaster, for those who have the right… um… Nuggish qualities.
Consumate business bogles, the Nugs, have expanded the range of goods they’ll sell to welcome foreigners. New lighting and a bed have appeared on the Nug quatermaster. Never heard of the Nugs and their range of Nug decor for the fashionable residence? Chances are, you haven’t done the quest lines that allow access to the Nug quartermaster.
These secretive folk don’t allow just anyone to trade with them. Nor do they export their goods to other stores. If you want to buy from the Nugs, then you must travel to one of their villages and buy direct. Continue Reading
Since June 12th, I’ve been playing a new game when I go touring dimensions. It’s the ‘Spot The Cash Shop’ game. I’m revisiting old, familiar dimensions to see what may have changed with the addition of so many new items available in the cash shop. Are you playing that game too?
I love all the little competitions players have been holding through the Rift Forums. Rift Dimensions have announced their motorcycle morphing competition. Got ideas on how to build a motorcycle in game? Then head here and enter the competition.
There are no limits to the items used, just add imagination. Prize is the title of Badass Object Morpher and a video of your creation. Competition deadline is July 31st, 2013.
The cacophony of autumn tones and glowing purples brings the Dendrome to life.
I love pressing the ] key to open the shop and sell all my unwanted drops and greys. Anywhere, anytime access to a vendor. Trion may limit the bag space for F2P players but this feature means it’s much less of a problem. I do want to know why, even with this feature, my bags are always full. Did my whiskers just twitch at the mention of packrat?
I like seeing the starting area full of people, all agog at how good Rift is. While I’ve seen the occasional nasty conversation, most has been enthusiastic and, sometimes, downright entertaining. I’ve enjoyed getting involved in Silverwood events again. It hasn’t been this energetic since those first few weeks when Rift first launched. Continue Reading
View from the entrance o Crowned By Stars by Baradara@Faeblight..
Crowned By Stars (by Barada@Faeblight) is the new dimension from Feendish, located in the Edge Of Infinity. First built on the PTS to test all the lovely new items introduced with patch 2.3, Feendish fell so much in love with her creation, she had to bring it to life on the live shards.
On entering Crowned By Stars, I’m struck by colour. The vivid reds and purples of the new plants stand out against the subdued palette of Edge Of Infinity. The buildings are grey or black, the sky, dark and starry, the lighting, a perpetual night. Flowers, ferns and trees provide much of the personality within this dimension. Continue Reading
The henge in Kingsward.
Nomi, sister to Omi, has moved from the City Core. She can now be found in the top left of the Dendrome. Of course, in true Trion fashion, Nomi is not easy to get to. Visitors to Nomi must first complete the achievement, It Goes To Eleven. This involves finding eleven henges, one in each zone of the new world. We now have a list of co-ordinates for each of the stone henges with many thanks to the fine people who hunted for them. Continue Reading
Mystery boxes. Who doesn’t love that feeling of anticipation just before you open one, the unlimited possibilities of what you might receive. Mostly followed by disappointment as the box fails to meet your hopeful expectations. With patch 2.3 and free2play, dimension mystery boxes will be available for sale in the store. Many people bought these on the PTS when credits first became purchasable. The boxes have changed a lot since then. I spent the last day of PTS access opening mystery boxes to see what we could expect when the patch goes live.
As with all things PTS, the information presented here may change (and is most likely to) especially the drop frequencies of items. We won’t know the real value of the mystery boxes on live until a few hundred have been opened. Hopefully the following information will give you a good feel for whether you want to indulge in them or not. Continue Reading
The new way to farm for platinum in the F2P regime. ‘Gold’s Farm’ by Zyonyx@PTS Alpha.
Free2play is almost upon us, bringing huge changes to the game we love. We’ll have a whole new way of buying goodies for our toons and a whole new economy, now that so much of what we strive for in Rift has been monetorised. In this article, I’m going to speculate on what the new economy might do. Continue Reading
Three wise mice and their brother, contemplate the world.
If you have recently joined this blog and don’t know the history of the Radish Inn and Maze, you may find these two posts helpful reading to catch up on the story.
Requiem for the Radish Inn
It’s been months now since I’ve lost the Radish Inn. I miss it but am strangely reluctant to rebuild it. I’m fearful of buying a guild version of Stone Flask Tavern. I suppose I’m still traumatised by my loss. I’ve thought about buying a personal Tavern (it allows me to use all those lovely account bound fishing items) but the item count is not sufficient, at 1000 items, to do the Inn justice. So I sit, vacillating between the two options, and do nothing. Continue Reading
Red tier loyalty reward, Endless Eclipse.
It’s like I’m holding my breath for the 12th of June. The anticipation and uncertainty about the game, after free2play goes live, is hard to bear. There are so many changes to dimensions about to happen, it’s all rather overwhelming. I thought I’d collect all the changes in one spot for a handy reference.
