Don’t know what they’re feeding the trees on Akala but it’s sure scary! Can anyone else see the demented face of an angel in the tentacles? Die Dunkle Acadamie by Artraius, Akala
The time between Christmas and the new year is a very social one in Australia. It’s hot, the children are all on summer holidays and many business’s shut down during this time. I’m taking advantage of this to relax and spend time with friends. I’ll also be working on the blog, updating a few pages and preparing the next round of articles to be posted. In light of all this social butterflying, Better Homes and Dimensions is going on holidays till the 2nd of January 2013. I’ll be back then with my regular schedule of posting.
Stay safe these holidays!
Christmas is here at last and I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, whichever applies. May Greatfather Frost bring you many lumps of coal for your open fire and your loved ones gather round in it’s warmth.
Greatfather Frost arrives bringing joy and warmth to all. ‘Merry Xmas, Greybriar’ by Toefluff, Greybriar.
Christmas Tree, Aerial Storm Castle by Gabriael, Greybriar
I was scouring through the blog’o’sphere the other day when I came across this post by Loise. Oh boy, did that post resonate with me! Dimensions can be such time sinks. I know I spend hours placing objects just right in my dimensions. In fact, I’ve placed over 1600 items, just right. Another great time sink is visiting dimensions. And blogging about them. I love visiting other dimensions and seeing what people are up to. I’m such a stickybeak. I can spend hours poking around and never notice how time flies by. Put your hand up if your toon has reached sixty. My, that’s a veritable forest of hands! Continue Reading
Christmas wreath. ‘Eyecandy Slide 2.0′ by Cariina, Faeblight
Raptr just announced the winners for the Developer Q&A on held on Raptr earlier this month. The best question receives a Storm Chaser Edition which includes a year of Rift as well as other goodies. The next 10 best questions receive a copy of the Infinity edition of Storm Legion. Congratulations to all the winners: Bumradish (Storm Chaser Edition), Mainmor, Neehlasse, Sorenthaz, Corducken, Kyrhyraeth, Atonga, sactown, Triscuitable, Pamkhat and MysteryFish (Infinity Editions). Many thanks to Trion and Raptr for supplying prizes and hosting the Q&A.
The Stylish Radish
Did you notice the Bumradish? Yep, seems I’ve won myself a year of Rift. I couldn’t think of a better Rift related prize. (Except maybe a fully upgraded Dormant Core dimension – tough choice between that and a year of Rift!) Thank you Raptr for choosing my question as best. If you’d like to read Radish’s questions then pop over here.
Simple Burlap Couch: Simple yet effective arrangement of burlap sacks for an informal occasion. Cozy Homstead by Yael, Faeblight.
Been a long, hard day of onslaught? All the carnage getting you down? There’s nothing like putting your feet up after a long day of grinding and the comfier the seat, the better. If you’re been looking for that perfect, cushy couch then the vendors are of little help. No, real lounging requires you build your own.
When making your own seats, the burlap sack is your friend. A line of burlap sacks along the ground is about as simple as seating gets. Tilt sacks vertically and place behind your line for a simple, stylish lounge. Pop a crate, tile or plank of any material underneath for a little extra flair as Yael of Faeblight has done with their Simple Burlap Couch. Continue Reading
Gartyn Hejme, Failed Dimension Engineer and object lesson
Education is important, folks. Just ask Gartyn Hejme all about the consequences of failing your Bachelor of Dimension Engineering. Gartyn spends his days working in the Radish Inn chopping carrots, churning butter, washing dishes and providing eye candy for passers by. If only he’d applied himself to his studies rather than dimension hopping all hours of the night. Continue Reading
Christmas star, ‘Merry Xmas, Greybriar’ by Toefluff.
As promised, I’ve posted a well reasoned and supported argument for a dimensions forum of our own. Let’s hope Trion agrees that our little community needs a forum to grow. Show your support by hopping over to the forums and adding a plea of your own or liking the post. I, for one, am tired of sifting through irrelevant posts to find the dimensions posts.
