Long summer evenings in the hot tub! Halls of Shaping by Blood Storm Troopers@Faeblight.
Trion have heard our pleas about the hard yakka* for Carnival of the Ascended and removed the grind for dimension items for Summerfest. Now, before you all go cheering, Trion have done this by excluding dimension items in the list of goodies available for holiday currency, at least for this phase.
Were you looking forward to getting out there and defeating a few invasions, closing a few rifts and decimating a few dozen bosses for holiday currency? Don’t give up hope and don’t spend your Summerfest currency, Trion may very well introduce the dimension items for phase two. Continue Reading
Level 25 guild reward, twisted cherry tree in the Halls of Shaping by Blood Storm Troopers@Faeblight.
Way back in the beta for Storm Legion, the twisted cherry tree was one of the most desirable and wanted items. It had character, like a bonsai tree, twisted and gnarled yet pretty and pink. When dimensions went live, the twisted cherry trees were nowhere to be seen.
There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth within the dimension community but to no avail. No cherry trees could be found in the game until fishing introduced the flowering cherry tree from Moonshade. Continue Reading
The Guardian centerpiece statue is a random reward from the level 25 guild quests.
The guild, Blood Storm Troopers (BST) of Faeblight, have reached level 25. It is believed they were the first guild to do so. Imediately on leveling to 25, they purchased the Halls of Shaping guild dimension (which is still under construction but open to the public, if you’d like to take a gander).
BST have been busily completing the level 25 guild quests since they dinged 25 on Wednesday, 10th of July. Often the guild rewards are consumables like insoles, but occasionally a dimension item is a reward for the guild quests. This lovely statue is the one found at the entrance to Sanctum. Makes me wonder what the Defiant guild quest might drop. Continue Reading
Snezslava Motorworks sets the standard for motorcycles. ‘Snezslava Motorworks’ by Snezslava@Wolfsbane.
There are a few contests currently running for dimensioneers, some contests rewarding platinum or REX, some rewarding kudos. Think you might like to enter one of these contests? Then follow the link and read the rules before entering. Good luck to all the participants.
Today’s screenshot is of Snezslava Motorworks by Snezslava@Wolfsbane. This sweet ride sets the standard for motorcycles and was built for Freakyfreak’s Zoom Zoom contest. Continue Reading
Abducted by aliens. Please warm the probes before use. Close Encounters by Ultec@Wolfsbane.
Snuffle, snuffle, cough, cough. You may have noticed that posts have been rather sparse the past week. That’s because I’m having a close encounter with a cold. Since I’m already afflicted with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, it will take me another week to recover.
Today’s dimension is Close Encounters by Ultec@Wolfsbane. The alien ship is huge and a tribute to blue crystal masses. The frozen tempest bay citizens are being sucked up to a horrific ordeal. Pretty much how I’m feeling at the moment but with less probing. This little scene is the only thing in the dimension but it sure gave me a chuckle when I encountered it. Continue Reading
Black marble and red carpet add a sense of wealth and luxury to this Breach Chamber. ‘Ahilin Mansion’ by Ahilin@Gelidra
Colour and texture are fundamental to the look of a dimension and patch 2.3 certainly bought a lot of colour and texture with the new building blocks. I love the marble blocks, they give such a rich, luxurious look to a home or grandeur to a public space. Black marble is dark and serious. Green marble is vibrant and alive. There’s been some excellent examples of buildings using these marbles to good purpose.
Ahilin of Gelidra, combined black marble and red accessories to excellent effect in Ahilin Mansion. To see what this dimension once looked like, pop back in time to Radish Recommends: Icewatch. Double the item count, include the fashionable new dimension items and Breach Chamber never looked better. The wood of the stairs provides a foil for the marble and the red of the carpet is picked up in the red velvet chairs, tempest bay banner and the round flesh rug. Continue Reading
Radish waves from the now accessible pier in Three Springs dimension. House Test Dimension@PTS Alpha.
We’ve all been wondering where the Three Springs dimension has gone. It was placed on the PTS before the announcement of free2play then disappeared without a trace. It’s release is not imminent but is due eventually and to announce it’s pending arrival, Trion are running a competition to give away the Three Springs dimension and the dimension pack that goes with it.
Yes, you read that right. The dimension on each shard receiving the most weekly votes, between the 3rd of July and 12pm on the 9th of July, will win a free Three Springs dimension. The voting system for dimensions is not a popular one. For a start, dimensions in the top spot on each shard have an advantage over other dimensions, they receive more votes than other dimensions without advertisement, just by dint of being first. The system is also disliked because, people being people, the voting system is open to abuse with votes paid for in platinum. The voting system is disliked because of the requirement to advertise on chat channels, forums or other avenues, a task some dimensioneers seem reluctant to do or feel is unfair. Continue Reading
Just a quick little post to share something cool. Every so often it’s nice to be reminded that there are other artistic endeavors out there. KentS shows his passion for Rift by sculpting a rift monster from the original concept sketch by Trion artists. He’s managed to capture the essence of the sketch and created one scary dude.
