Black marble and red carpet add a sense of wealth and luxury to this Breach Chamber. ‘Ahilin Mansion’ by Ahilin@Gelidra
Colour and texture are fundamental to the look of a dimension and patch 2.3 certainly bought a lot of colour and texture with the new building blocks. I love the marble blocks, they give such a rich, luxurious look to a home or grandeur to a public space. Black marble is dark and serious. Green marble is vibrant and alive. There’s been some excellent examples of buildings using these marbles to good purpose.
Ahilin of Gelidra, combined black marble and red accessories to excellent effect in Ahilin Mansion. To see what this dimension once looked like, pop back in time to Radish Recommends: Icewatch. Double the item count, include the fashionable new dimension items and Breach Chamber never looked better. The wood of the stairs provides a foil for the marble and the red of the carpet is picked up in the red velvet chairs, tempest bay banner and the round flesh rug. Continue Reading
Ah, that elusive +1 recommending a dimension to the public. It seems that the more votes a dimension has, the more it receives while equally excellent dimensions lower in the field struggle to be noticed. This regular series looks at the best on offer. I’ve picked the recommended dimensions for their style, innovation or entertainment value; they all have that elusive quality that made me go wow! This post, I recommend the best of the new dimension, Moonshade Pools, in North America.
All these dimensions are worthy of more votes than they currently have, so if you can vote while visiting, give their owners a little ego boo with a +1. Happy dimensioning! Continue Reading
Ferns abound in the Moonshade Pools dimension. Is one of these ferns the ‘gift’?

All sorts of goodies are on the horizon for dimensions. In a State of Dimensions post on the Rift Dimensions forum, Faratha discussed some upcoming features and changes to dimensions. First off, Faratha discusses the size and limits of dimensions and gives us some insight into the design process of dimensions.
As a design principle, dimensions were made larger than the item totals assigned could fill, allowing dimensioneers greater choice in where to build in their dimensions. This led to comments that players cannot ‘fill’ their dimensions. In response, Faratha will be making smaller rather than larger dimension areas. In future, players will be able to fill the available space with the dimension’s assigned item limit and not think their dimensions are too empty. Continue Reading
*Updated to include recent changes = 18/6/2013*
There are currently 21 personal dimensions available in Rift and choosing the right dimension is an important decision for the dimensioneer. Much has changed with the release of Patch 2.3, the Dendrome. Now players can have up to ten dimensions on one toon, the first two dimension slots are free and the rest bought, and the item limit for all dimensions was doubled by the addition of a fifth tier. While, we now have greater choice and flexibility with dimensions, picking a dimension suitable for your long term purpose will save a lot of wasted platinum and energy. So what’s the best way to decide? Continue Reading
