Bylhix the carnival bartender has been partying a little hard.

I’m all excited for March 29th (I was more excited when the release date was March 1st) and the new dimension items scheduled for release with patch 4.1.  Wandering around on the public test shard has revealed a few new dimension related items that may be coming with patch 4.1 or the Carnival of the Ascended, now scheduled for March 30.

First off, the Mystery Box: Imperial Wonders is replaced by Mystery Box: Wonders of Alittu.  Inflation has also hit the mystery boxes, as the cost has risen from 350 to 400 credits.  The new boxes contain the Key to Dimension: Alittu (See Dimensions Gallery for pictures).  Your chance of the dimension key dropping is 8.1% or one every twelve* boxes should have a key (remember random chance may have you opening more or less than eight for the key).  The average number of items  is 5.25 per box.

Return Of The Prodigal Banner

The Tempest Bay Banner returns, at a much increased price.

It snuck in unannounced, like a teenager returning home after curfew, without noise or fanfare.  Welcome back, Tempest Bay Banner, I missed you.  But, what’s this?   How much?  Nine platinum, 5 credits?

I remember when the Tempest Bay Banner was a mere 80 gold.  What happened?  Did Trion upgrade the pixels from cotton to a more expensive material?  If I rub it with my digital fingers will I feel the cool, satiny texture of silk?  No, seems to be the same boring cotton as always.  Perhaps the Telarian dollar has nose-dived and imports are now more expensive.  Except, it’s a local product.

Maybe those grifters from Droughtlands have moseyed in on the local merchants and now we’re feeling the bite of protection money.  That must be it.  It couldn’t be sheer profiteering on behalf of the greedy merchants running this town, could it?

Carnival of The Ascended Brings Dimension Goodness

Today brings phase one for the Carnival of the Ascended.  This was such a fun event last year and I’m anticipating more fun this year, with new pets, gear, mounts and, most of all, dimension items.  The dimension items themselves are all carnival related, from party lights, floats, even a pageant runway.  There are three types of vendors selling dimension items this event, the Ascended Goods vendor, the Shady Goods vendor and the Carnival Prizes vendor.  All can be found clustered with the other merchants but all vendors are not available in all carnival locals.  This year the carnival can be found in Tempest Bay, by the docks, Sanctum, Meridian and Shimmersand.
