I’m all excited for March 29th (I was more excited when the release date was March 1st) and the new dimension items scheduled for release with patch 4.1. Wandering around on the public test shard has revealed a few new dimension related items that may be coming with patch 4.1 or the Carnival of the Ascended, now scheduled for March 30.
First off, the Mystery Box: Imperial Wonders is replaced by Mystery Box: Wonders of Alittu. Inflation has also hit the mystery boxes, as the cost has risen from 350 to 400 credits. The new boxes contain the Key to Dimension: Alittu (See Dimensions Gallery for pictures). Your chance of the dimension key dropping is 8.1% or one every twelve* boxes should have a key (remember random chance may have you opening more or less than eight for the key). The average number of items is 5.25 per box.
Wonders of Alittu also contains two new music boxes, Alittu Music Box and Ahnket Tower Music Box. Your chances of a music box dropping is around 3.8% per box. The new boxes still contain blinking tile scratchers with a 1.8% chance to drop per box. There are only 9 colours of blinking tile scratchers, notably absent from the scratcher colours is green. Either I was unlucky or green has been missed from inclusion.
The Wonders of Alittu will drop 4-6 items with the scratchers making an extra 7th item when they drop. Excluding, scratchers, keys and music boxes there are 78 decorative items. The Alittu display cases are going to be a hot item, I can see so many uses for these. Magitech is the big winner in these boxes, a lot of items look like futuristic technology, including the display screens and banners from Alittu, which are visible from one side but go transparent or disappear from the other. The boxes also include two new houses, sadly only the exterior is available, they can not be entered. A list of all the items dropping from the boxes has been included at the end of this article. I only opened 210 boxes so if there are particularly rare drops they may not be included.
A new affinity box, Banner Bundle, is available for 14 affinity and drops 4 banners per bundle. I opened 495 boxes and found 67 banners of varying rarity. There were two legendary items, the Massive Storm Legion Banner 01 and the Massive Storm Legion Banner 02. Your chances of dropping the legendaries is 1 in approximately 120 boxes. That’s a lot of affinity. The rest of the banners were epic, rare and uncommon quality items with drop rates to match. Sparklynn posted their results of Banner Bundle opening and, my, what a colourful and varied bunch of banners. Click on that link to see the banners, lights and potion bottle pictures Spark has posted.
If you’re wanting to spend your credits, two new boxes, the Candle and Torch Bundle, with 27 possible drops, and the Passel of Potions, with 20 possible drops, will presumably be found in the premium section of dimensions on the shop for 30 credits each. Both boxes contain 4 items, all of them uncommon items with approximately the same drop rate. Pictures are for these two boxes are included in Sparklynn’s wonderful post.
Dreamweaver also gains two new recipies on the Visionary Recipe vendor. Recipe: Lantern Hook Motes and Recipe: Lantern Hook Bubble Nebula are both special effects and cost 100 grandmaster craftman’s, 200 master craftman’s and 1000 artisan tokens or 300 credits.
There are four more new dimension keys on the PTS:
- Wyrd Hut – crafted.
- Saint Taranis – Carnival of the Ascended cost 1700/1530 credits.
- Volcanic Playground – crafted.
- Fortress of the Apocalypse – Affinity purchase.
Two odd little items on the PTS are the Mathosian City Forge and the Carnival Bartender. The Mathosian City Forge is likely to end up in the store under buildings with a credit price of 600 and the Carnival Bartender is will be available during the Carnival of the Ascended under world events in the store. The satyr bartender is as drunk as a skunk, heaven knows how he can pour straight. Since he has a cost of 200 credits, he’s likely to be on the store and, with luck, available for holiday currency.
The exact cost of some items is unknown and since the patch has been delayed by almost 5 weeks, some or all of the information here may change so, as always, take news from the Public Test Shards with a grain of salt. For more information, check out Nouveau’s blog post at Dimension Gallery.
