Well that was an interesting experiment. It seems my new treatment was a comet flashing across the sky, bright and fiery but ultimately burning up on entry. I’ve had to stop the treatment due to accumulating side effects. As a consolation prize, it seems my foggy brain was caused by the treatment and that is now slowly reversing itself. I’m O.K. with that, I like my brain more than my body anyways.
Landmark has started and with no non-disclosure agreement. We can talk freely about our experiences with the game and there are many experiences to be had. I’m loving the whole alpha thing. It’s frustrating, with bugs galore, but playing a game cut to it’s bare minimum gives me an appreciation of just how much work and thought goes into making a game playable long term. I’ve staked myself a claim in Landmark so now I have a home and can start learning about the art of building.
Silky Venom, my Rift guild, hit level 25 before Christmas and as a present, they upgraded the guild hall. I love what we did with Caer Kholum before patch 2.3 (the F2P patch) and I’m in the process of adding a maze, armory and torture room to the hall. The trick will be to keep the flavour of the old build while introducing the new elements sympathetically. As always, the guild has been very generous with donations of platinum. My biggest problem will be forgetting to progress the guild hall cause I got sucked into Landmark. I can’t help it; new games are always so much more seductive than the old.
As for this blog, I’m not fully recovered but I shall endeavor to keep writing. It will be Landmark-centric at first because it’s easier to write about the new, shiny game but I’m sure Rift will sneak in sooner or later. I cannot promise to write regularly, it will depend on how tired my poor, abused brain gets.
