Print a listing of dimensions on Faeblight and you’d kill a small tree to do so. Print a listing of dimensions on Hailol and it’s a pamphlet. When it comes to real estate, some of our shards are cities while others are comfortable country towns. Like municipalities everywhere, our dimensional landscapes are undergoing urban renewal and revitalisation. The extra tier and so many beautiful, new items introduced with patch 2.3 meant a flurry of redecoration, renovation and extension.
Thankfully, patch 2.3 also brought the ability to have 10 personal dimensions per character, so while personal dimensions were altered and updated, their essence was not lost. The same can not be said for guild dimensions. Guilds can only have one active dimension at a time so when guilds reach level 25, they must replace their old guild dimension to activate one of the fancy, new ones. As soon as Blood Storm Troopers@Faeblight reached level 25 they replaced Blood Carnival with their new Halls of Shaping. Now Harshmallows@Gelidra is continuing the trend. They’ve torn down their Caer Kholum for a Halls of Shaping.
These old level 15 guild dimensions were some of the best from the first few months of dimensions. They set trends, garnered publicity for their guild and acted as a recruiting tool. It doesn’t surprise me that we are losing the best of the old dimensions. These guilds are well organised, able to generate large amounts of platinum and want the status of the latest and greatest guild hall. The old dimensions have outlived their usefulness; the themes and items used are so yesterday and the builders have moved on from the game.
We’re losing our dimensional heritage, folks. I want to make a placard, hold protest rallies, raise a hue and cry, form the Society for Preservation of Ancient Dimensions (S.P.A.D.). Why, it’s enough to give a girl a case of nostalgia!
At least we have the memories and, in some cases, great documentation about our lost treasures. Still, it doesn’t do to grow complacent, who knows what great build we’ll lose next. I’ve provided a list of great, old guild dimensions, drop by and visit before they, too, disappear.
