As we move away from Christmas, I wonder when to take down the dimension Christmas/Fae Yule decorations. My family took decorations down 12 days after Christmas. Christmas, depending on the particular brand of Christianity, is officially over on the 5th or 6th. Wikipedia has a nice article about the traditions behind Christmas.
Reader Mirja@Argent put me onto Hilarymas (January 13th), the day Swedes traditionally take down their Christmas decorations, along with partying, feasting and eating the last Christmas candies. This seems a fun way to end Christmas. Maybe a pull-down party would stop that little bit of sadness I always feel when I pack away the decorations.
Rift ends Fae Yule on the 17th of January this year. That makes over a month of Fae Yule celebrations. Hmmm, I think I’ll be well finished with Fae Yule by then. I’m already planning what I’ll build for Valentine’s day.
I’m declaring the Christmas season over on the 13th of January. If you have not visited my Christmas dimension, ‘Merry Xmas, Greybriar‘, you have a week to hop on over to Greybriar and take a look. After that, I’ll be tearing the dimension down to make way for Valentine’s day.
What about you? When will you pack away Christmas/Fae Yule and what will you put in it’s place?
